Just wonder what and how everyone is getting thier GPS #'s.

I have seen but never used the hand helds.

My old boat had a big GPS screen on it and I could look at the speed, average speed, my route, mark different places, and all that other stuff.

Is it like that- just turn it to that screen on a hand held and it will show your speed?

What does an el-cheapo one cost or whenever I get someone to work on my bike can I paypal someone the cost of thiers and then send it back for a 80-90% "refund" or some thing? I would be renting it for the most part is what I am saying as well as protected shipping both ways.

I have a little yellow Garmin E-trax. I bought about 3 years ago for 150. I have seen them lately for as low as 90. It is a great little hand held and is 100% waterproof, although it DOES NOT float!:( I know!!

If you cannot find one localy for that price, let me know I send you one.

I like the GPS units they got on the crab boats these days, tied in with the weather station and all the flat panel TFT-LCD's. I'd like to get a hand held GPS.

How about this idea-

Not really to make $$ of the members but I think I am going to buy one and "rent" it out.

You can paypal/escrow me $ and I will ship you my GPS. As long as I don't lose contact with you for a long while your $ will be safe- don't hear from you that means you bought it. When you are done and I get it back in good condition I will paypal you most of your money back.

Example- $150 GPS I will send out for $100 paypal. When you send it back in good working order (not going to cry about grease on it or anyting like that but be respectful) then I will paypal you back $90 ASSUMING shipped cost about $5. That is $5 rental fee for unlimited within reason usage.

I don't mind $150 at all- but after that what am I going to with it?

The other option is I am going to buy one and then "auction" it off on here. FAIR price and it is gone- if all I get is $15 I will keep it for that or ebay it.

Also- I am willing to rent someone elses when I get my mods done for b4/after #'s that benefit us all. Doesn't really matter if my scoot goes from 40MPH to 43MPH, if it feels faster and quicker that is all that matters to me BUT it is nice to know it was worth doing the mods and hopefully saving someone else from doing some thing worthless or letting someone know it was worth doing.
