Yea those cars sure are nice. They arent that expensive for being such a cool car. MSRP is $39,985 for the '05 model.

Only thing toyota does for them is supply the motors, Lotus is owned by Proton.

I think most would pick the Lotus- well known name and is still a "car" with things such as A/C, leather seats and so on. The Atom is nothing short of a street legal race car.

0-60MPH in 4.9 seconds vs 0-60MPH in 2.1 seconds for the Atom, 0-100 in 12.9 seconds vs 6.8 seconds for the Atom. Can drop .2 seconds off those times in the Lotus with the Sport Pack. Atom is doing every thing in under 1/2 the time of the Lotus. The Atom can go 0-100-0 in the quicker than the Lotus can get 0-100...

Me- I pick the Atom based on performance...

I had a 2000 MR2- nice car and was hoping Toyota would have made a turbo or faster model. The Lotus is exactly what I was hoping Toyota would have down on the MR2 platform...

Yea if I was looking to just smoke every car on the road I would get the Atom but in normal driving its not too practical. The Elise does have normal things that I would want in the DC humidity, like AC!!! I guess though as long as your going fast enough the wind will blow enough to cool you down in the Atom.lol

The Atom is what it is- not a daily driver. 65-75 degrees on a nice day is about all it is good for. Too hot would not be fun, too cold would not be fun but on the perfect days I don't think you could have more fun....

Like ya said- I just want to smoke every car on the road but mainly those pesky T-Rex owners I know!

Geesh, you must live in a pretty la de da area of MD. I see a huge house, nice 3 car garage there, and you know a bunch of t-rex owners, and to top it off you have a nice expensive boat. I guess my Verizon phone bill is paying you nicely!!!lol

Here in Utah, it just feels like you are riding in front of a hair dryer when it's hot.

Funny- I was going to type that same exact saying in my post! I say that all the time!

Thanks Speedy! I just happen to get a good deal on it since I knew the owner. ;) It has another side load garage on behind the 3 car garage so really it has room for scooters.
