I want to have faster acceleration. I don't really care about increasing my top speed, i just want to get there much faster. some mods i have read about (exhaust) indicate there is a loss of bottom end and loss of power off the line. what mods will result in good acceleration?

You can put in the parts to take off like a jack rabbit but top out at 28 MPH or you can put in the parts to slowly creap after 1 mile to 20 MPH but have a top speed of 55 MPH.

It is all about balance Bro-

I am not telling you what you want but most are looking for a little bit better accel and a little bit on the top end as well- just a nice balance where you are getting to a faster speed quicker.

Where do you ride, what mods do you have, how much do you weigh and so on and the people on here can tell where to start to try to find what you are looking for.

When you change you exhaust you are moving the powerband so you need to change the clutch springs and the tranny weights to get in the power band. For more accelleration you would get the clutch to engage sooner with lighter springs and the weights would be lighter to run thru the "gears" faster. In exchange you will max out at a slow speed but get there fairly quickly.

lets see, i'm about 190-200 lbs, my zuma is stock and i mostly ride in the city (chicago) and also plan on using the zuma as a pit bike at ama events and trackdays, etc.
i certainly don't want to lose any top speed, but i would like to get there before the end of a city block.
Oh... and I wouldn't complain if it would wheelie on command. :D

How many grams are the stock zuma roller weights? Will a high speed pulley a variator help a stock zuma with better cruising speed at lower engine RPM's?

no but gears will... the pully is basically a better metal and wears better... Unless you go to the molassi tranny set up but those are like $300 for a variator and belts...
