I was wondering how much more top end speed can you get out of having the bigger tires installed?
Has anyone tested this?
Thanks

with the vino a little... I was told it's something like 3mph on an otherwise stock scooter if I remember correctly...

That sounds in line with what I've experienced over the last few days. I lost a bit of my mid-range torque and gained some speed... well, that's not entirely accurate - I would have to say it has "stretched" the powerband somewhat.
With the stock tire size 0-45 km/h came fast, then 45-55 km/h would slowly roll in, with 60-65 km/h would need a looong time and flat or slightly downhill roads.
Now, with a 3.00x10 on the rear: 0 km/h all the way to 60 km/h pulls steady and a lot more driveable. My 0-45 time is a little slower, but my 0-55 times are much faster, and 0-65 is incredibly quick compared to before.
Does that make sense?
Also, I get about 5 km/h faster in almost all situations. Uphill, since I'm a heavier rider, isn't any faster but it's not slower either.
And the handling! I picked up a Michelin S1 3.00x10 after my stock tire got a big wire-thing torn through it - the new tire handles 3x as good as stock!

performance or aftermarket tires are always better than the stocker's

So where do you find these tires at? You have to order them directly from the manufacturer?

would you say that tires are the next best mod after stage 1? Has anyone tried 3.5 inch tires yet?

3.0 x 10 tires work best. There is an issue with the tire rubbing in front with a 3.5 x 10, works ok in the back though, if you want 2 diff size tires.

There would be no foreseeable issue with haveing two different size tires? 3.5 in the back would be a 3/4" increase from stock. Do you think with stage 1 it would be dumb to do that or just keep both at 3.0?

I'd keep them the same. I have read of others who had diff size tires and there is a slight down hill slant on the scooter. No real advantage to having the bigger rear tire.

Are the 3.0 x 10 tires much bigger than 90/90-10 tires? I just got the 90 tires the other day. (The stock were 80).
Would you say there is a significant difference?

Would you say there is a significant difference? no actually the 90/90 - 10 tires are wider/taller they are closer to 3.5 x 10 inch size. Do you have any problems with your front tire rubbing?

Actually no, I haven't noticed any rubbing. I actually bought them at a local scooter shop and had them put it on, along with getting a new drive belt. Because I didn't think I could put the tires on myself, and the ones were getting pretty bald and dangerous.
So would these tires, being bigger, actually increase the speed moreso?
I certainly ride higher and the ride is smooth.
