It really depends on who your dealer is and where they are located. There are trade offs with either one. Some things come stock on a venice that aren't on a vino, and vice versa. There's hardly a price difference, so it all depends on a few factors.

I chose the venice because it was practically identical to the vino, it came in black/white 2-tone, and it came with a factory installed alarm system, cable lock, cover, tool kit, and battery charger. There was a dealer 20 minutes away, not to mention the closest yamaha dealer only carried one vino and they didn't seem to give a crap about the vino or anyone interested in it. There's a stigma in motorcycle shops that you don't find in scooter shops.

Yeah Yamaha dealers don't care about selling the Vino, they make less than $XX.oo profit on them. But I went with the Vino because of the dealer support and ability of parts.

Been riding it all summer now to work. The Venice dealer is 5 minutes from my house. All the Yamaha dealers are way out in the suburbs. The Venice was the more practical choice for me.

The Venice top speed stock is about 42mph which is about the same as the Vino, uncorked of course. They do share the same motor design, but there are slight diffs.

The dealer support all depends on the shop. At our local TNG dealer, they are incredible about any little problem, where the Yamaha dealer is a little more snooty than they need to be in my opinion.

If it comes down to the manufacturer, TNG and Yamaha will most likely stock parts for a very long time especially since a lot of scoots are using it.

Personnally, the Yamaha is easier to tune, but the TNG comes with A LOT more goodies for equal or less money. Since I'm a perf geek, I would probably go with the Vino, but the TNG is a valid contender.
