Where did you get the 12's and how did they fit? Did you have to mod anything to make it work? Can you post pics of them? How did it effect your speedo?

i'm pretty sure he got them imported from europe. they have the 12'' bw's over there as a normal bike. unfortunatly the US doesnt get any of the great euro bikes, aerox, 12'' bw.

the 12" wheels look nice but the wheels look like plastic...I want something that I can chrome.

yea i can guarantee you that those wheels arent plastic. yea the white paint may look like plastic but there is no scooter out there with plastic wheels. you can always get those rims, strip off all the paint, then chrome them.

Yeah plastic wouldn't make much sense....I wonder how the 2" change in wheel size would effect the speedo, and how to correct it.

my rims are power coated. they fit just like stock cuzz they are stock oem. you can get them chrome, i am just not into chrome parts on my bike. if you want some 13's you might have to look for some older aerox rims, without rear disk.

Can provo get the 12" wheels? If not can someone PM me as to where I can get them?

nope provo cant get em. you have to find someone in europe with a bike who's willing to sell the rims. try ebay, or internet searches.

If you can get a 13's with the rear disk, and they are OEM, how hard can it be to make a rear disc brake on a US zuma?

First of all...Good Luck finding any Aerox Parts....I might be going out on a Limb here...But if a wheel is disc brake..you cant convert it to drum...as that is something that is already machined out in the wheel..You might be able to convert a Drum to disc if you can machine a "Slug" to fit inside of the drum area and have the side already Drilled and tapped to fit the disc...don't forget..you have to have some way to hold the caliper on.....But this is just my machine head talking.... --o .....Ok..I read your post again..to have 2 discs on your scoot...you will also have to purchase another Brake fluid resevoir...to go on your left side handlebar, and a Fluid line long enough to reach your rear wheel..$$$$...

the best way to convert to rear disk is to use the whole complete aerox engine and back rim. if you want some oem 12's for your bike order them from a yamaha dealer in england and have them ship them over. its not goin to be cheap but you will have your rims.

does anyone know if the bug eye wheels will fit the pre-bugs?

one easy way also to convert to rear disks is to get the resovoir, lines, caliper, and disk off of a malaguti phantom f-12 LC. you also might be able to fit the phantom's rim on.

it's easy to upgrade to a disc brake on a zuma (prebug)
find aerox wheels (13"), a discbrake caliper, and mount it like this:

you can either bolt the suport for the caliper to the engine-block:

or weld it!

or you can also fit a 12" wheel from a MBK Rocket or Yamaha SPY and keep your stock drum brake. Just put the wheel and you're good to go!
This one is also polished.

As long as it clears the fenders, they'll fit.

the mbk rocket 12" wheel will not fit a bugeye cause the drum on your bugeye is a bigger diameter.
However you can do the same mod and fit a 13" yamaha aerox wheel and ubgrade to a discbrake.

I wonder if the aerox 100 has the same spindle size? It has the same drum size.
