Ok...mounted the shock this morning, the Vino rides WAY better, but.....

the rear tire now touches the ground.

Is this a problem? I'm a little worried about start up - the stock vino has some tire clearance so the wheel can turn freely on start-up...will it damage the vino to start it with the wheel in contact with the ground?

is there anything I can do to get some clearance? short of welding on an additional bar on the centre stand to regain some height, I'm at a loss.

the centre stand seems to be pretty stable, even with the tire touching, altough getting it off the centre stand seems WAY easier...not so far to move...any risk here???

thanks for the help/input

I know that's been brought up in the past... I don't think there is any problem with the wheel being on the ground when starting as long as your not idling to high...

If you are the clutch will kick in and off the scooter will go, unmanned!

You could weld a 1" pad to the bottom of the center stand... That should give enought clearance to keep the wheel off the ground... Or you could just make sure you have the brake on when starting as it's set up stock...

I'll bet you start to experience difficulty starting.

You'll be fine, my Vino's rear tire has touched te ground for a year now from when I went to the 3.5x10" Sava tires. There is no ill effect from the tire not spinning.
