well guys i have a question for ya ! some 2stroke tuners have been talking about running with out a head gasket !!! to get some extra umph out of their bikes . and replacing it with copper silicone but to make sure you have .030
head clearance what do you think . disaster or benifit ?

the point of this is to raise compression... Another way to accomplish this is to "shave" the head... If you remove metal from the top of the head, you are making the space inside the cylinder smaller... Therefore raising compression... Therefore making a potential for more power... Or blowing your engine from to much compression....
Big thing to keep in mind is keeping it flat... Don't have waves in the head if you are going to do this... You'll end up leaking like no gasket...
I wouldn't run without a head gasket... IMO that's just asking for trouble...

PM lennox I think he might be able to help out with this a little more... He's into port mapping and working the metal on the engine! :)

You would definatly be safer shaving the head and using a gasket. BUT you can run with no head gasket as long as you use COPPER SPRAY not silcone. After assembly a leak down test is a MUST. Another must is regular inspection/comp test just to make sure you find any leaks befor they blow your metal into pices. metal=piston, rod, rings ect

You! LOst ME HERE!!!
shaving the head
you mean shave the Piston Head!!
if so the piston head on this Block is somewhat rounder
shaving it will ad more power!!!

not the piston... The top piece of the cylinder (the head) the piece that has the 4 nuts attach to it... and the spark plug screws into it...
If you shorten it then your making less compression room in the chamber...
exaclty oposite if you were to shave the piston...
I'll post a pic if there is still confusion ;) ...

Jered!! what about the Back gasket behind the cylinder Block!!
would it slow POWER!! if the gasket is to big! or wide for the corners
i looking to see what will make fast take off!! 2 seconds delays

well to start... no snow yet... however we had our 1st termination dust... which is where the mountains get the 1st snow on the top of them... This morning... It was all of 36 or 37 degrees... Cold as hell riding... My 15 minute ride was horrible this morning and nice this afternoon (55-60 degrees)
Leave the gasket you had come with it there... unless you've damaged it... Even still go with the same thickness or thinner... Thicker makes the chamber bigger! Making less compression... As far as your take off... That's tuning the variator... You can make it so that the tranny kicks in faster by installing lighter weights... However it will make the top end not as strong...
It's all give and take on a variable tranny set up... I get decent take off and still have a stong top end... I don't go below 43mph on hills... stock I was getting down to 32 or less on the same hills before.

Sure seems like a complicated way to make a very un-dependable vehicle.
Why don't you just forget those tiny 50 cc motors and all these mods and get a real 125 or 150 cc scooter?
You get all that power you are striving for and a bike that you are not afraid to ride.

125 150s can be beat easy by a well modified 50cc
