The mechanic called me today and told me that my scoot was running.. After i had told him that there was probably a restrictor in the pipe , he finally got smart and took it off and looked and removed two restrictors from the head and the silencer.. Thanks for the tip!!

For some reason when he was poorly troubleshooting he decided to reinstall the stock variator and weights..
So.. i kinda have the stage 1 now, because i have the clutch with all the springs and the torque spring in them..

As for performance i have to rev it pretty good to get it to start moving , but around 18-20 it starts to book.. I noticed unlike before stock, i could always hear that second gear shift around 10mph, now it sounds like its always in one gear, like its always in second or something.. Is this normal, should you hear it shift?

Anyways, im just happy to have it back after 6 weeks, i notice an increase in top speed, but not totally thrilled about the start off acceleration.. Would the new variator and weights help with the acceleration?
thanks for the advice, sorry for any harsh things said while i was zuma deprived.

there isn't actually "1st and 2nd gear"

The way the tranny works: there is a pulley on the engine output shaft... it's opened when at idle and the belt is spinning close to the center of the pulley... as the RPM's increase the pully compresses and the belt rides up the pulley making the belt spin faster.

The rear pully is closed to begin with and open with the belt speed increased, causing the rear end to spring the clutch disks out. Making the rear wheel spin...

anyway there is no "gears" it's all variable. all depending on where the belt is riding on the pulley face.

If that all makes since... the "shift" you hear is the RPM's kicking up to the power band and the tranny is working it's magic...

Hence the name CVT, Centrifugal Varrator Transmission.

I think your crazy king... and I think the mechanic above lied...

I posted a pic of my stock exhaust... there was no restrictor...

Where was the restrictor on the zuma at? Also 2? Don't get it... maybe I still need to remove the restrictor on mine? IE: CDI unit!

All the ones we had at the dealer were about 10 cm up in the pipe. I had posted pix when we had the old boards up. If I wasn't about to head out to Wenona for two days, I'd try to find it in the achieves on HDD2
