I am currently tuning my tranny and I want to know which roller weight do you guys used, this will give me pretty good idea about where to start with. I specially want to know those stage 1 and stage 2 tuner (of course, zuma), with tecnomoto variator, what roller weight do you guys use.

I have recently try 5 grams and my 03' zuma start too slow, from 0 to ~18mph. Once the zuma reach ~18mph, the power kicks in and it start to fly. I think my roller is still too heavy, I am going to try 4g later (in order) and see how it goes.

I'm still playing with my weights... haven't found that happy medium yet... I have tried a combo on the weights that came with the variator... and also ones bought from Erich... I swear the ones I have in right now are like 3 or 4 gram... runs strong and hard all the way through...

I'll look up the weights tonight when I get home.. but 3.5 or 3.6 sounds like what they were... I don't think erich sells them anymore he only is doing 4 and 4.5's...

One big thing I think is better is to go with a delta or speed clutch... They eliminate the clutch springs and have a larger contact pad than the stock ones.

These guys have 3.5 gram rollers in 16x13mm

Also .5 grams more up to 10 grams... (less a couple of them)...

If ERich can't get the 3.5's these might work... took tricky searching to find these on a MSN search...

Thanks, this gives me an idea. If your are running T6 70cc with 3.5g, then I should be good with 4g, since mine is only 50cc. But are you using the torque spring that comes with the variator and add a shim in it?

I'm using the large spring... however I can't use the shims as they cause the spring to pop out of the spring keeper and it ends up twisting and spinning....

So No shims just the spring...

4g should work for you...

Try the shim on the other end ;)

I looked at that option but I have the delta clutch and there is no where to make it "SIT" with the spring.. it'd cause the same problem... No where to keep it in place..

why are there 3 shims anyway? color coded? are you supposed to match the shim with the weights?

OH, btw- to lighten roller weights, drill symmetrycal holes

From what I know, you are suppose to put in one shims at a time, more than one shims will make the spring shift out. The color of the shim and the weight, I think is unrelated. Add the thinkest shim will makes the spring more strong, etc.

The shims are for if you need to tune the clutch more than just placing that HUGE spring in there...

It's like adding that little bit more of a spring in there... There are 3 sizes to allow for better tuning...

I think I'm on the light side with all my weights... however I might be incorrect as I know I'm using the whole face of the variator... I'll try my lightest weight next to see how it works...
