Very squeaky front breaks.

I have a new 05 Zuma, stock.

The front disk breaks have sqeaked from about 50 miles to now (around 200 mi.)

Should I take this back to the dealer? They told me on the phone that it's normal and it'll go away after a while....

The scooter stops normally and there is not obvious operational issues.

Pull the pads and give them a little rub with a scotch brite pad. When you reinstall put a bit of disk brake quite on the back of the pad to hold it to the caliper and piston. The pads are known to viabrate a bit when braking causing the squeak.

Yea, my 05 Zuma did the same thing. Went away after a while and since I have started riding it hard and really using the front brake there doesn't seem to be any problem. I do still get an occasional squeal on slow stops after it has been sitting a while (days). I have almost 1600 miles and will probably upgrade to some better pads soon. :smokin:

Its Brakes btw. ;) Anywhoo my brakes usually squeal only when its extremely humid out, which is every day lately. But I only have around 130 miles so far. On a side note it doesn't really bother me since my car has racing brake pads on it which squeal like pigs.

Mine both squeal when braking slowly. If I'm riding it hard they are silent. Any ideas for the rear? about 500 miles so far on an 05

brakes do squeal... it unfortunately happens... even on cars, sometimes you just have to live with it?!

my pads were wierd, they never squeaked until about 500miles then began to until about 1800 then all of the sudden one day they didnt squeak. now and then i might get a little squeak from them under hard braking but not usually. it was really bizzare to me.

mine havent squeeked once for 4 years and 1300km/h
