A couple of my co-workers walked by tonight as I was idling my 2004 vino classic, and complained about how smokey it is.
One of the guys is a motocross rider, and said it seemed to be running 'rich'...is their a way to check?
I pulled the plug and checked it on Saturday - it was perfect - choclaty brown, no black deposits or anything.
any suggestions?

leave it alone! change the type of oil to a "LOW SMOKE SYNTHETIC" Don't adjust the carb... its like it's supposed to be....
Let em complain! Or you can even get flavored oils... To make it more appealing instead of normal oil flavor...

Provo sells some nice fully synthetic oil.... won't make your vino look like a choo-choo and it'll help it run better! Only 12 bones for a quart last I checked.

Mine always smokes for about the first 2 minutes after a cold start no matter what type of full synthetic oil I've used. I've tried three different kinds, but the race oil seems to smoke a little less on startup than the cheaper stuff.

I was worried about it,and every time I stopped yesterday, Ichecked the tailpipe...after the first few minutes, it seemed to clear up...oh well, the joys of two stroke smoke...I actually like it...it reminds me of fishing trips with my dad, and mowing the lawn with this ancient, huge green lawn boy mower we had.... :)

Hey I have one of those ancient green LawnBoy mowers...Love that 2-stroke grunt power...
I have found that the synthetic smokes a little less, but you will still get some, especially when cold and the choke is operating...

Funny, I thought most motorcross bikes were tu-strokes as well? Guess these guys were all talk if they rode motorcross they should be use to that! Must be Honda riders and under thirty!

I was going to get the Strawberry (it really seems to fit the Raspberry Metallic color), but with something so vital to the internal workings, I'm kinda wary. Anyone tried it, or know someone who has? Any troubles?

I looked into the synthetics with scents.
They were hard to find, but I guess it's the latest rage among those europeans!
I heard there is even an oil that smells like bacon!
I want that one!
All the scented oils would have to be ordered from over seas.
