its going "rub rub rub rub" ect over and over, until i tap the front brakes, then it stops.

is there something that needs to be adjusted? if so, how?

sounds like the pads are not sitting in place correctly.. and they pop into place when you tap them...

don't think it's a big deal as long as they are not drastically out of place... as tapping them sounds like it corrects the issue?

it corrects it, but i have to do this every time i "slam" on the brakes. i'm planning on selling it next year, so having that fixed would be a plus.

Check the clips to see if they are seated right. they are mounted through the Pads.....For discs...you could always get That silicone "Brake Quiet" from a Auto parts store...it keeps the pads stuck to the caliper..and they wont drag on the disc...But be sure to clean everything real well before you put it on. For Drum Brakes rubbing means a broken, or slipped off spring.
