Hello Everyone, Just got a MZ Scooter

I stumbled on this site by accident.

I have a 2002 Moskito which I bought for a few hundred bucks a few months ago. In the past month it has become my daily driver to work, taking/picking up the GF to school/work, and ride home. I was spending almost $10 a day in gas and putting tons on miles on my 2002 VW GTI. So now the GTI can get some rest.

I figured the best way to learn about this bike was through a forum. I'm a member of Probetalk.com as well as VWVortex. Thanks to those sites I have to to pay for performance/maintance on my cars. I hope I can do the same with this scooter

Right now I can cruise at 40mph with me riding and high 30s with the GF on board. I would like to bump up the speed to at least 50mph. I read some of the how-to's which I will probably give a try these weekend.

Question, Does my scooter (i guess Kymco makes it) have the minerelli style motor??

Yes it has the Min engine setup. You have a good scooter. A couple hun sounds like a great deal!! Any of the Zuma stuff will fit this scoot!

Hey yeah - I heard about that! I was listening to the radio early this morning (more like leaving the radio to make noise - silence creeps me out) and some crackpot called up and started blathering about earthquakes right in the middle of a discussion about politics. Funny thing, the "stock" cylinder on MZ scooters actually has YAMAHA cast into it!!! So, not only is it a Yamaha style motor, it IS a YAMAHA! The MZ's must have different gears though, cuz they a bit faster on top!
