I have the Stage 1 with the Technimoto, or is that Technicolor?, and I want to change out the weights and put the silver ones into the casing but I can't figure out how to do it.
To be clear, I am talking about the black or blue plastic casing that goes around the metal weight.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

SFC123,
The weights are easy to change, but sometimes it takes a little coercing to get the casing apart and the wieghts out. Not knowing how far along you are:
1) Take off tranny cover
2) pull off variator outer pulley
3) pull off belt
4) pull off variator inner pulley/ramp plate, spill weights and V-sliders onto ground, scramble around to get them before they roll under the heavy workbench, again.
5) Now, you have a handfull of weights in thier two-piece cases. To separate the cases, just pull. Sometimes they are tight, I held one side with a set of pliers and twisted the other side like I was trying to unscrew it. Eventually, it loosened up enough to come apart. Wrap a bit of shop rag around the case if you use pliers, so you don't chew the soft plastic up.
6) Once I got one side of the case off, some of the weights still didn't want to come clear of the other half. Again, out with the needle nose pliers. I held the case, and used the pliers to grip the weight - one jaw in the hole, one on the outside like i was pulling teeth.
7) to quote my Little British Car repair manuals, "Reassembly is the reverse of removal."
As an aside, when I got my Technomoto vario, I was told the weights were 5.0g, 6.8g, and 10.5g.
Hope this helps!
