How easy is it to remove the front and rear wheels?
Any special tools required?

I want to take off the wheels and let the mechanic replace the tires only. THis should save some time for them and money for me.

the rear wheel on the zuma, is basically the same as the vino...

simply remove the 4 or 5 exhaust bolts and then move the exhaust, then remove the large nut that holds the wheel on (Mine was an odd size and had to use adjustable wrenches to get it off... just make sure you tighten it back tight so it doesn't fall off while riding!

the front should be similar but not sure as the speedo cable has to get in there somewhere also?...

Vino guys, any more info?

Just pull the bolt out and the wheel and hub assy pull right out. The brake hub and speedo gear assy then pull straight out of the rim. Once the front wheel is off, the scooter will want to tip forward onto the forks. Just prop it up with something until you reinstall the wheel.

I have only removed the rear wheel on my Vino--the nut was very large--22 mm, I think. Borrowed a neighbors tire tool & one of the ends was fairly close in size & was able to loosen the nut.

yep. it's a sinch to do. there really isn't any way you can mess anything up, so don't worry. just be careful about the bike leaning forward after the front tire is off. maybe take the exhaust and rear tire off first.

If it's on the kickstand, why do I have to remove the exhaust also?
I was thinking of propping it up with some bricks ore something.

BTW...Thanks everyone!

You won't get the rear wheel off without taking off the exhaust.

I Agree with mybloody2005...My Derbi will slowly tip forward while I'm trying to reach for a wrench. well...last time ...I reached for the scissor jack and It worked great.Didn't have to take the rear wheel off and it stayed on the stand fine. Only a couple jacks and it stayed level. (this is the Cheap jack almost all cars come with) I just hope your scoots undershield is flat enough. ::handleba John

you still have to remove the exhaust because of how the rear wheel mounts. you can squeeze in and get to the bolt w/out removing the exhaust, but then you don't have enough room to get the tire off! so yeah, you have to remove your exhaust too.
