70cc Tuning Question:
Some guys in our local club have installed a 70cc kit on a Malaguti F10 (with a Minerelli engine) . The kit came with a HUGE 28mm carb with manual choke (which is 5.5 times larger in area than stock). They are having serious problems getting it started when cold (even with the choke closed). Then once it gets fired up and running, it runs very strong at ½ throttle. Once it goes beyond ½ though it boggs out completely.
To me this sounds like the carb is too big. Not enough velocity and vacuum. What do you guys think?
BTW, it has a tuned pipe, cone filter, Malossi Multi-var, and a heavier torque spring.
