has anyone else had an issue with the oil bottle sensor poping up or leaking when you ride, i have nearly 600miles and i only had a small leak before (i thought it was just the line coming out of the bottom since they used a cheap little spring clamp) and today i parked it at home and it was dripping oil really fast on the starter
btw i drive a 05 zip r3i
cant drive 55

I personally haven't had that problem but I know that at the shop I work at has seen that happen. Usually all you have to do is drain all of your oil, pull the sensor out and then put some silicone around the sensor or some other material to make the outer diameter on the sensor larger so that it takes up space in the hole. That should fix it because usually all it is is that the hole the sensor goes in is a little bit too big for the sensor. Hope this helps your problem out!

It has happened to me and most other zip owners I know. I just drained all the oil the pulled the sensor and cleaned it and the resovoir as good as I could then put RK silicone sealer on the lip of opening and on the underside of the sensor....the reinstalled the sensor....pressing down pretty good for several minutes....300 miles later and no leaking.

Take the oil bottle out and pre-mix your gas.
I wouldn't trust a bottle if it's leaking.
You might be on that long ride and it all leaks out and then guess what happens???

the only problem with premix is that most of the time when i stop for gas its between school and work, i like the convenience of the oil injection, it started today, i took the seat out and pushed the sensor back down and the leak stopped all together, so im gonna get some black death RTV and seal it up for now

Good Pont smokin.....didn't think of that....that would be BAD.
I think I will go back to pre-mixing......is it 2.5 oz of oil per gallon of gas?
Thanks,
Doug

3.2 oz to a Gallon is 40:1 mix.

Florida derbi rocket is correct for the pre mixing ratio.
You know to be safe It's better do 3.5 instead of 3.2 just to have that extra lubrcation.
It's always better to have a little bit too much oil than not enough.
Sacrafice a tiny bit of power that you won't even feel but know that your motor is lubricated not just good but extra good.

penzoil makes a 2-stroke oil (cents each) that comes in little green bottles that are EXACTLY 3.2Oz. Use up the "crap" oil in your lawn equipment, then keep re-filling the bottle and keep it under your seat. Pre-mixing REALLY can be as easy as pumping gas!

That's exactly what I do and just add a little bit extra to that when I refill. Forgot to mention that.
