I have a 2001 and the stage 1 install on my zuma. I can go 40 up a good hill,

and 45 with no wind, and 43 with a little wind. My question is I want like 2-3

more mph without having to do stage 2. Any suggestions?

go big bore or go home lol, thats about the best way to get more speed besiders striping it down and making it lighter. you could have your cylinder head deck for a bit more power.

what part of stage 2 dont you want? the big bore, or the pipe and carb or any of it?

I have spent about $400.00 on my scoot recently for the stage 1 and the

new clutch. I wanted to get a little more power for just riding to work. I only

need like 3-4 more mph to be completely satisfied with the speed at which I

travel. My wife will not let me spend the couple hundred more dollars on stuff

for the stage II.

talk her in to a 180 doller pipe and that should give you the top end you want.

a CDI unit change out?

Gears would be perfect for you they will give you 3 to 5mph on the top end.

I like the upgear option but will it decrease my intial acceleration?

Is it fairly easy to install?

its not that easy to install and you will lose alot of acceleration with out a big bore.

a pipe is you best bet.

I still need 3-4 mph and would like to only spend an additional $50.00.

Am I out of luck or what?

i think your all most out of luck. for 50 bucks you can do much, but get a airfliter and maybe a coil over ebay.

If you need more topend and some power I wouldn't spend 180 on a pipe when you can spend 140 on an arisal.
A big bore will give you the power and rpms to get that extra 3-5 mph.
You can also pick up a TP cylinder for about 140 which is a great basic cylinder kit as well.

yea but you need to run a bigger carb or spend money on jets.

I would just go with an Airsal cylinder and keep the stock exhaust and upjet the stock carb. I know that it is possible to do if you really just want a couple of more MPH's and a whole lot of acceleration. Jets aren't that expensive you can spend like $10 and get a couple of jets so you can find out what works the best.

You could try carbon fiber reeds you might get 1 to 2mph, they should be around 50 bucks i got no gains from the performance air filter compared to the airbox , it was just louder, and ate more gas because the larger jet needed with the filter, and the racing coil wont really give you any gains on a 50cc engine with stock compression. But we all know the feeling of the 70cc kit , after you get you'll never want a 50cc cylinder again.

I guess I can just deal with my measely 43-44, depending on the wind, and

save up for a carb and cylinder kit. Both of these together will give me more

than enough gain in the long run.

But you cannot do one without the other and you must rejet the carb.

If you have $150 you can just get a cylinder and just upjet your carb, drill holes in the stock airbox and drive along. It does work and still would give you that stock sound since you still have the stock exhaust and carb.

running the stock carb with jets is still risky i guess since the T6 dont put out that much it (maybe) fine.

A T6 does put out a fair amount but its all what you compare it to I guess. I know though for a fact you can run a T6 with stock pipe and carb. The only thing is that you don't get as much performance but for what it seems he wants this would be fine.

Maybe this is the way to go and I can buy it here at provoscooter.com!

All Zuma's are electronically governed by the ignition box. They limit the engine revs to 8000, when the Vino which is not governed in that way will spin up to 12000! This will increase that top speed that you may be lacking. It requires a relay and a little bit of wiring.

Only $69.00!

What do you guys think?

I'm sorry but your not gonna get your motor to get up to 12grand just by ungoverning that cdi unit with a performance one.
You won't even get that high with an Arisal with all the parts on provo with it.
If you were to get all the parts listed on provo you would be Lucky to get much past 9k.

A friend of mine has all the parts on here and was turning 8900.
Get a kit and you'll be good you don't need a carb but you would have to keep stock pipe.
Your not gonna get the full potential out of it but for what your doing it will be fine. Your gonna have to Upjet your stock carb aswell to match that 70 kit. Other than that your good to go.

The Zuma's CDI is not rev limited. The Vino's is. You can get revs on a Zuma if you go with the overrange. I turn +13.5K no problem.

The zuma is not restricted but the new bug zuma 02 and new should be...

What if I jetted my carb? Would that increase my power any?
