So my top speed hasn't changed any with the molassi reed valves or changing the roller weights... I'm going to up the weights again and see if that helps with the top end any...

Other than the weights going up, I can't think of why the scooter won't go faster! I have everything all as it should be... but it just won't break the 48mph point....

I am going to research the rattle coming from my exhaust area but can't imagine that would be causing a speed problem... Only thing I can think of that could be an issue with the exhaust is that the restrictor on the zx pipe fell out when I was trying to install it. Which unless there is "to much flow" causing a problem, then I don't see how that could hurt... Erich any thoughts? I'll also email Erich and see if there is any issues with this...

Anyone have any suggestions other than roller weights?  as I am lost as to what could be keeping my beast from opening up!

I was talkin g to a motor head friend of mine, and there seem sto be some discrepency in carburation.

Some scooter tunert say use 19mm.

Well, I have reason to believe that this just IS NOT enough VOLUME. I have ordered both a 19mm, and a 28mm with a 70cc kit so I can experiment.

I did some reading on this as well... I have a little update on my situation... I got my jet in from Erich and got it installed... However I was running lean as could be before! Now I'm running RICH as can be! I've gone through 2 plugs and have the 3rd installed now... I'm trying to get the mixture right so I can get it going... but no matter what I try I'm stuck! I'm waiting on an email from Erich on it to see what his thoughts are before I play with it more...

I think I'm good with the 19mm carb being I'm running so rich, however we'll see... Maybe you got some input...

I am rich as all get out at idle, no matter which way I turn the mixture screw (not the idle screw) I stay rich, can't get it to look chocolate in color... Just a tar sticky black. I got on it to ride home last night after work and started it up okay, rode for less than 30 seconds and then it died! I had to change the plug to get it to fire... I leaned it out a little and then rode home, however at 1/3ish idle it feels like it's coughing and sputtering. So I had to keep it at WOT (which is lean) or idle which was rich to keep it from dying... My ride is all of 5 miles or less from where I was at last night, so it's not like I had a hour drive or anything.

Any thoughts as to how I can get it to tune better? Do I need to drop my needle down or raise it? Also since my WOT seams lean, I'm guessing I need a bigger main jet (I have a 100 and a 105 on order) but haven't recieved them yet.

Still working on the carb issues... Just don't like to replace the plug after 5 miles or worry about toasting the piston for it being lean on the top end...

Jered did you break your new bigbore kit :D in did you run it at idle when you first got it? If you want to go :) fast jered I solved your problem. Get a polini big bore kit or mallosi

I broke it in... however... break in as the yamaha said to break in the stock set up... At lease as close as I could...

I'm now looking to upgrade the 70cc airsol as I think my piston is going... As a result of it running on the lean side for a few miles...

I am looking and pricing 70, 99 and 105cc kits... I might save up for the 99 kit and try that out...

I think the problem could be the exhaust. You are only using a ZX pipe, and I believe the pipe limited your top speed. Try a technigas RS70 pipe, i heard people use this pipe and a T6 and comes with good result.
