The pipe is pretty much worthless without redoing the multivar, and at that point, it's about the same in cost to do it is just go up and do a Stage I.

He speaks the truth, sadly. But if you do by a performance variator you'll get a huge jump in performnace......like 10mph.

I am just afraid to go stage one because of all the problems I read on this BB.I might do it though,I find it hard to believe that you can gain 10 mph with a pipe and Variator.

Pipe and multivvar is Stage I, but yes, 10mph is pretty easy with Stage I.

Yes, a pipe and rollers will give you 10mph. My Malaguti (with the same engine design as the Vino) topped out at 40mph until I put on the Arrow exhaust and 6gm rollers. Now does 50mph no problem. It is the pipe that gives you the extra power, but if you dont lighten the rollers it will bog down off the line (variator spins up to quickly) and will feel like you actually lost power.
I think some of the problems people have with the stage one is that they are not "tuning" the variator. It takes some experimentation with the weights to get it just right. Even between two identical scoots with identical mods, each one will run slightly different and will require different tuning to get the same performance. This is just the nature of the 50cc 2-stroke. Also, the removal of the snorkel in the airbox should be done after the other mods have been completed and are working good. Removing the snorkel can cause the engine to run lean since there is less vacuum. If you start doing all sorts of mods at once and dont sort out each one individually before moving to the next step, you will have no idea where to start to fix it.
