I bought an 03 TNG with 688 kms today with new helmet for $875 after tax. I *think* I got a pretty good deal. Anyways, I was thinking about modding it and I learned to respect the network of info provided by forums from the Jeeping world. So do stage 1 and 2 affect reliability at all? I don't really want to overhaul the lil 2 stroke since it only has 700kms. And how long do these stock engines run?

well... to start, WELCOME TO PROVO and welcome into the scooter world...

It's just like a car engine, the more power you push out of it the more likely you could have reliability issues...

Big thing is to get the jetting right and make sure your getting oil into the engine! If not.... it will lock up and your back to stage 0!

The scooters are easy as heck to work on... Not overly complicated... However you need a little mechanical background to get somethings working properly... The carb is my biggest enemy! I can't seam to get it to stop running lean... Which will lock me up if I'm not careful...

So take your time, do it right and you should be okay... I haven't heard much complaints on engines blowing from anyone here... I see some on the yahoo zuma forum but I think it's all in the tuning that causes the problem...
