Personally, I hate the fact that guys on motorcycles like to taunt us. In the year I've had my Zuma, I've only had about 3 or 4 motorcycle guys actually wave at me or acknowledge me in a 'cool' way.. the majority of them usually look but don't wave, and Harley guys who like to ride up next to me and rev as loud as they can to scare the hell out of me really piss me off.
My wife and I like to go out and ride around to relax (she has a Yamaha Riva Jog), but meatheads on motorcycles piss me off.
Why don't they understand that we enjoy the 'riding experience' like they do, it's just a different way to experience it?
Oh well, that's my dislike..
Also, getting looked at like I'm a 13 yr old kid on a moped is annoying too.. even though I'm 34 yrs old on a scooter.

They did that to me when I was riding my Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 which was bigger than most of their bikes!
They just do it be idiots, doesn't matter what your ridding.
I don't like the feeling that everyone is about to run me over. A posted 45 mph is only a suggestion here.

Thats wierd, this crazy harley couple talked to me for like 15min. after we both parked our bikes. They understood about enjoying the ride and we all complained about those dumb ass crotch rocketiers! They liked how my pipe was louder too, the lady said thats the safest thing I could have done. It was a cool convo, doubt it'll ever happen again though.
I have only three major complaints about riding scooters. 1.....Sometimes after commuting through some thick traffic I get home and smell like exhaust. 2....... BUGS (got stung on the lip by a bee, a moth flew in my ear, and a lil nat has flown in my eye!!!). 3....... helmets just kill the doo!
Of course you can always complain about jerks who bark out dumb comments from their SUVs. But jeolousy has an ungly face, as most of you have seen. In the end, no matter how big their wheels are... we'll always look hipper, more stylish, and just damn cooler in the end! Not to mention the girls that are worth talkin too :D :D :D

see, my experience has been the opposite... the Harley meatheads are the ones who try to scare me off the road as they pass me.. the 3 or 4 motorcyclists who were actually 'cool' were all on crotch rockets.

I've had nothing but good experiences with the guys on the hogs. It's the rednecks in pickups, and big rigs I hate.

I shoukd clarify. Not all Harley riders act that way. I have many friends who ride them. It's only the ones who think if you're not riding a Harley why bother riding.
I second the comment about rednecks. Watch out for the tobacco spit!

ALL bikers wave at me and never been given a hard time/bad looks/etc.
What I hate about scootin:
1. my Zuma is STOCK...
2. rain
3. bugs
4. big rigs throw road debris all over

The rednecks don't scare me all that much, I'd be more afraid of the rappers. Most of them ole country boys won't bother you. And I hold as much respect for those men out there working the farms who put food on our tables as I do the yuppie in his Lexas. Whether you're a farmer, construction worker, or a waterman, it's a hard life with little thanks.

Heres what you do..I learned this few years ago at a motorcycle meet...
go to your local hardware store and purchase the cheapest, smallest bolts and screws. (Get a fist full of them) and keep them in a little paper bag in your tankbag (or in this case maybe messenger bag)
if you every have trouble with a complete ass ( in a car) on the road and you find yourself beside them at a red light...grab that fist full of metal and hurl it across the hood and front windshield right before the light goes green..
needed to do it twice in my life (once i just grabbed the loose change out of my jacket and scratched the hood all over)
NOTICE: DO NOT ATTEMPT IF THERE IS ANOTHER LIGHT AHEAD OR IF YOU CAN'T SPEED AWAY (AS ON A 50CC) ---OR---- DO NOT ATTEMPT IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD THE PERSON WHOSE CAR YOU SCARTCH UP JUST MAY RESIDE IN YOUR SIDE OF TOWN AND RUN YOU OFF THE ROAD ONE DAY...THAT'S KARMA
honestly the best advice is keep your cool on the road

Do not attempt this if thew car behind you is a cop, or if the forum moderator is a cop
Besides, using a lunch bag filled with screws, nails, and tacks, and drop it under the wheel of the offending vehicle works better unless it happens to be a cop, since our tires are run-flats then you beware.

Why not just strap a katana on your back? And maybe keep a tanto handy in case you need to slash a tire or cut a brake line...

I hate the fact I can't keep up with traffic.
In the past week I've been made fun of by some yupies in a escalade, a city bus driver and a hobo who wanted a ride
Guys in bigger bikes dont pay attention to me.
This chick in a scooter did "beep" at me though :p

I had a couple of yo chicks in an Escalade make some remarks about my scooter at a light, and I replied, "Gee, I can drive a hundred miles on a dollars gas, and let's see what that thing cost to fill up, fifty-sixty bucks? get about what 15 mpg's, LOL" I got flipped off, as they squealed the tires. I radio'ed up to my buddy with the FCPD about some druggies in an Escalade. They got pulled, LOL. It's good to be an ex-cop. :D

I don't like getting passed on the left when I have my left turn signal on and am about to turn left. Some folks are in too much of a hurry!

If you ever come to Utah stay off the round abouts on a scooter. Utah drive can't figure them out as it is let alone with a smaller vechile on there with them.
