I'm going to look at a used Vino Classic tonight and I have a question. I notice in the Vino Classic specs, it says the maximum weight it can carry is 165 lbs....I weigh more like 190....can anyone shed any light on whether the Vino Classic will comfortably carry me?

That baby will haul your fat ass just as fast as a 90lbs nerd! :D No but really, I've seen at least 200lbs dudes riding these scoots and havn't heard a problem. I have heard from the bigger guys that leg room might be an issue.

Thanks for the info......yeah, I'm six feet tall so...I'll have to sit on it to see how the leg room is..although I've sat on a Stella and a Venice with no problems....

what can I expect for a top speed? 45 mph? I plan to ride it to and from work on 35mph speed limit roads with a few moderate hills...I know there is a phase one performance kit that can increase my horse power but, I probably won't do that right away

I'm 6 foot and 225 pounds ! MY scoot will hit 53mph and even faster down hill with a good tail wind ! :D

A deristricted vino will hit 43mph max (on flats) and probably 30mph goin up a hill. But yeah, vinos make EXELLENT city comuters!!! WHat used to take me 15-20min to get to work, now only takes 5min! What used set me back 18 bones a day for parking, now sets me back nadda!

I'm 5'9 and I probably have too much leg room haha. But if you felt cool on the venice, there shouldn't be a problem on the vino.

Well, I just went and looked at the Vino Classic I was asking about. It's a 2003 with 300 miles on it. I rode it around the block and it ran great...started up no problem and handled well. I think it is still restricted because it wasn't too quick and it was VERY quiet so...I'm guessing it's restricted and, from what I understand it's pretty easy to unrestrict it.

So, here's yet another question: She wants $1100 for it....it's in excellent shape, a few very minor scuffs but otherwise like new. Is that a good deal?

yeah... I wish I could get a one year old used one with 300 miles on it... for almost HALF the MSRP!

That'd save me the $1700-1850 I'm gonna spend on a new one...

Ho hum... the joys of Alaska!

At least we had a AWESOME thunderstorm tonight! 2 hours of bangs and flashing! It was awesome! Makes me miss living in DFW texas! Didn't think I'd ever say that!

I just wanted to say, thanks to everyone for all the input. In the end, I decided on a new 2004 Yamaha Zuma rather than the used Vino. I loved the Vino but, really liked the way the Zuma handled better (bigger tires I guess). So...I'm pickin it up Monday and I'm totally psyched!!
