I wonder what Yamaha thinks? Honda has an 80cc scooter called the Elite 80, yet Yamaha has nothing in that bracket. I wonder if something is in the works? Does Yamaha really care? Scooter make them very little profit in N. America. But then why does Honda care? Do they know something Yamaha does not? Maybe I'm being cynical and sny!? Maybe there is something, or maybe I'm just bored!

You may reply here.

Well, you can also ask why yamaha has a 125cc scoot (like every other major scooter co.) and Honda does not. Maybe the Elite is just supposed to temporarily fill this gap until they get a 125cc into the metroIII. Thats my guess. Am I the only one that thinks those Elites and Helexs are ugly?!

Honda did offer a 125, they replaced it with the 250cc Reflex a few years ago, and doubled up the engine size. The Helix and Elite date back to the 1980's.

I saw to people on a brand new Helix today. Dude, that front end looks like front of a train! It's huge!!! The seat did look comfy though. That scoot reminds me of a lego... maybe cuz of all the plastic

I remember when all scooters looked like this. It was just the styling back in the 80's. If I recall the Helix was released in 89 but then dropped and re-released in 03 as an 04. the only thing special about it was that it was the only thing out at the time that had an LCD display.

Ahh...

My 1st scoot was an Elite 250 when I was in High School.

Forget what year and back then it was fun but also my only mode of transportation so was not as fun as my scoot is now.

Been almost 20 years now, so I don't recall if it was a Razz or a Jog I had.
