I have a general question for those of you whom may have this scooter and the stage two performance upgrade. How difficult was it to install? You see, I just got my T4 and although it is great fun to ride, it peaks at approx 45 MPH. Bear in mind that I have less than 50 miles on the bike but I am thinking ahead of time to that time when I would want to make the upgrade.

For those of you that have done it. Are the instructions provided at www. provoscooter.com adequate enough for a "newbie" with good technical skills or would be much better to recruit a "friend" :D with engine experience for the project? The time the project may take to complete is of no consequence for this bike is not a means of primary transportation. Let me know what you guys think and would recommend. :) :D

The cylinder upgrade is relatively easy if you are mechanically inclined and own a few tools. To get to the cylinder you'll want to remove the rear body work. If you have screwdrivers, needle nose pliers, and metric sockets size 8 to 15 you're in good shape. To do the variator in the tranny you will need an impact to loosen the retaining nut. If you run into some tight screws on the body work you might need an impact screwdriver. The motors are very simple to work on. I did a full kit on my R3 and I have never worked on a small 2-stroke motor. It was very easy to do. The hardest part is getting the throttle linkage to work on the aftermarket carb.

actually you need a 6mm allen wrench to open the tranny case, and a 17mm socket to remove the bolts for the clutch bell and the variator...

For most of the bike the tools include a 10mm socket and a large phillips screw driver...

I think thats all the tools that I have used on the scooter during all the upgrades I completed...

as far as how hard it was... I did all mine on a zuma but for the most part the scooters and upgrades are similar... I started thinking it was a weekend or longer project and finished in half a day... Wasn't bad at all...
