I recently was given a NextZone Jog(CY50N) from a family member for my daughter. She has about a year before she is legal to drive it but in the meantime I have been attempting to do some much needed maintenance on it. It has 2920 miles on it and starts on the first kick. When I got it the electric start wasn't working. I isolated that to a dead/bad battery. I have it on the charger now to see if it will hold a charge. If it won't it will be replaced. I've de greased most of the exterior and replaced a few screws for the body panels.

Now I'm trying to hunt down my last issue: the turn signals. When I flip the switch the turn lights come on but do not blink. Where is the unit that controls the blinking? Part number? Difficult to replace? Thanks!

The blinker should be behind the front panel covering the leg shield. Forget about that until you get the battery sorted. A non flashing blinker is a classic symptom of a weak battery.

HA! You are absolutely correct. I put in the battery once it had a bit of charge on it and it is now functioning correctly. Thanks for the info. Now, everything works properly.

Any way to test the charging system on a scooter? I can do it with an alternator on a car, but with scooters I'm kinda lost.

Nevermind, I found a youtube video explaining how to test it.

I think you will find that all is well. Battery failure is pretty common in seasonal powersport items - especially with cheapo batteries like the Everstart (more like neverstart) line from Walmart. Get a good battery tender - the kind that cycles the charge, and it will pay for itself in one winter. My Milano electric start stopped working after I installed the 70cc kit. I modified the center stand so I can kick it with the stand up - I'd rather kick anyhow.

Very cool. What are the performance options on these things? Curious only, as I'd rather it not go more than the 43 mph that its rated for with my daughter on in.
