Anyone know of a good place to find speedometers that are identical to the venice factory speedo? As far as looks, mounting, and size? I would probably like it to also be in Mph instead of Km.
Thanx

Kilometers dominate the display on most scooters (the US loses to the metric system here). Personally, I've gotten used to it and my eyes automatically glance at the Mph, though I think their choice of color schemes sucks.
Another point. The odometer on your scooter is in the speedo, and any change to the odometer could be considered odometer fraud, and render your scooter worthless. Check your states laws about odometer fraud and make sure you're not turning your scooter into a paper weight.

Cool thanks for the input, I too live in Utah, and I am aware of things such as odometer fraud. I figured on making the odo read the same as what it's at now anyway, besides fraud I would want to know for my own reference how many miles (Km) I have put on it. I actually just would like to put a speedo on it that goes above 40.
Thanks.

Here's a link to a summary of Utah's Odometer Fraud laws.

Hey, it looks like it is ok for me to do it so long as I comply with the following guidelines. I just need to fill out a signed disclosure statement stating I changed it and put it to the miles it had before changing.
<<< Quoted from http://dmv.utah.gov/buyingodometerfraud.html >>>
Odometer Replacement or Repair
If the odometer needs to be repaired or replaced , the disclosure statement should read:
* The odometer was repaired or replaced and that the present reading is identical to the reading before the repair, or,
* The odometer was repaired or replaced, and because it was incapable of registering the same mileage as before, it was reset to zero.
If the odometer is repaired or replaced and then reset to zero, the disclosure statement must specify the mileage on the vehicle before the reading was altered. A notice in writing, on a form available from MVED, specifying both the date the odometer was repaired or replaced and the mileage on the vehicle before this occurred, must be permanently affixed to the left door frame of the vehicle.

Well why replace the speedo, why not just replace the spoeedo's face with an MPH printed face rather than KPH, they're just made of paper.

If you do change it out, you also have to convert the Odometer to miles in order for it to be correct.

I'd just leave it since you're not permitted to change, modify or touch the odemeter.

It does say you are permitted to set it upon repair and replacement, or reset it to zero, as long as there is documentation, and that it is permanently affixed to the vehicle.

One more point though. It does affect the value of the vehicle. Personally, I'd think twice before buying any vehicle with an odometer change. If the previous owner didn't complete all of the paperwork correctly, you'll have a hell of a time trying to register and insure the vehicle.

I definitley agree. I would not want a tampered odometer as well. If I were to change it I would not cheat, Not that kinda person. Anyway I don't think I will ever sell this thing anyway. I dig it too much.
