Hello,
I just ordered two new Venice 49cc scoots for my wife and I. We've been riding for some time now, but not as of last September when my wifes Vino was stolen.

Stage one for both of the new scoots will be put off until May or June, but the bikes arrive within the next two weeks.

Here's my question(s): Is there anything I should know about before we get them? What I mean by that is, will I need to de-restrict them? Will they be able to keep up with traffic doing about 40mph? I test rode one, but only briefly. They seemed to run about the same as a Vino, but it's been a while since riding as I explained above. Does anyone agree this to be true?

I ordered them from Sportique Scooters in Denver (Great guys by the way, excellent customer service!). I have a whole lot of questions, but will wait to see preliminary answers first.

Thanks everybody!

I would think they have the same restrictions as the vino im sure they have the washer changing the gearing ,and most likely the exhaust washer also. Just follow provo's how to's ,and you'll be set.

Derestricted mine gets up to 40-42 on level ground in calm winds. I weigh
175, 6'-0". I've had it up to 53+ downhill w/ tailwind...scary though.
You can count on about 35-40 out of the Venice in stock desrestricted form.
One thing I really like about the Venice is the ability to carry a lot of stuff.
Under the seat, on the floorboard, on the rack. I've carried a 30lb propane
tank, 30lb sack of kitty litter, whole case of beer, lots of groceries, and a 10x10 pop up canopy. Not all at once of course except for the beer and
groceries. Mine has been very reliable; always starts right up warm or cold.
I've ridden mine in temps down to about 36F; the scoot does better than
me in the cold.
