i still cant believe you did all that work and didnt replace the crank. Are you getting the MHR race crank? 12mm full circle at least.

The other day I pulled the variator off and was cleaning, etc... It was hard to get the variator off as it felt "stuck"
So I see it happening to me as well... I know pinky already did the crank install so he should have to worry about it...
I guess we'll see if mine bites it as well... then we'll know the stock crank is total crap...

I'm told the stock crank is good for 11.5K. Don't know for sure, though. A full-circle crank is worth it just for the decrease in crankcase volume. You can get a TP pretty cheap, and it works great.

Well Jered, its settled. You can be the guinea pig and tell us exactly when the stocker fails....... :naught: you get a tach yet?

no, no tach yet...
That's not a priority... however I wish I'd have got the GPS watch I found at fred meyers for $65 instead of my speedo I got... it'd have been more accurate I think... adn had more purpose... oh well...
they had them for 50% off on one of their sales...
anyway, It's not that the crank fails... it's that the splines strip and the variator just sits still and the crank turns... hopefully won't happen but if it does I will for sure let you guys know...

so I opened it all up and checked out my over range...
No problems with the crank at all... no stripping or anything... mines perfect...
Not sure but maybe your making more HP (if your kit was making 20+ then might be the problem)...
No grease all over... just a little tiny amount that was probably what got past when I put the "O" rings in...
I did have some belt powder... but the face of the variator looks to be well polished now compaired to before... I don't think the belt powder will be much of an issue... however I might get a new belt by time summer is over... just to make sure that it's good...
I can't say that there is any issues with a stock crank with the over range on it...
I did top at 60mph... so there might be more of a problem with the 60% upgears... but not with the malossi ones sold on here... they work great...
I do plan on the polini 60% upgears to get some more top end... but will be another month or so to make it happen...
