Can anyone tell me what you paid for the 24mm Arrech Carb here at provo?

I see the 19mm is $129 (http://www.provoscooter.com/shop/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=15&products_id=136) and would guess the 24 would be about the same, however your best bet is to email Erich for a quote. (questions@provoscooter.com)

The Arreche comes with a manifold that's unuseable. No way to seal it. If you order the carb, you need a different manifold.

It won't fit with the 70cc kit?

It's made out of a weird, soft rubber. You can't get it torqued right. Just squishes. I, and others, have tried Yamabond, Permatex and silicon. No dice. A manifold leak will kill you. I went with a Polini Manifold and it worked great. It's a good carb, very easy to install and tune. It has a built-in cable elbow. You'll have to strip some of the casing off your cable to get enough free length, but that's typical. There's flexible intake tubing available for it. Two lengths clamped together make it easy to put the air filter in the seat box.

actually there is a big price difference. list on the 19 is only like 110$, while the 24 is closer to 190$

you need to email erich (sales@provoscooter.com)and ask him for a price.. I don't know if anyone has ordered a 24mm arreche from him before...

I dunno I have a 25 mm MHR carb that is sweet but cost a bit more in the range of 200 somthing I think not sure would have to look.
But the MHR carb is well worth the money

OUCH! What does it take a few more ounces of metal ya' know? :( I guess the ol' saying still holds true- got to pay to play!

Well ya it is only a little bit more metal but completly redesigned as well thats where the cost comes from

So it is worth getting a 24mm instead of the 19mm. I will be at stage 2 for a while, then I'll be going with an Over-range set-up. I'll e-mail Erich when I decide on what size i will buy. $70 or $80 don't sound like a lot if it is really worth it in the end.

Should be a little more top end there with the bigger carb but you can go too big for your setup .

You can compensate with different size jets for your set up, right? Then when you go to over-range can you just change the jets?

Basically a wild 70cc kit will need for air and fuel then the 19mm carb can handle in the long run...
You need to replace the intake as well as the carb when you go above 19mm as they no longer fit in the stock intake...
MHR carb, mikuni, Arreche they all work... just depends on how much and how hard to tune they are... Some adjust easier than others..
Also, just because a carb is a 24mm doens't mean it will work with a 24mm intake... IE: my mikuni outlet is smaller then the OKO outlet... so you need to get them matched with the intake... a simple measurement of the outer diameter and let erich know when ordering... So, he can get one that has a inside diameter the same...
As well... Your over range doesn't really effect the jetting... It simply changes how the tranny works causing the engine to rev higher faster for more take off power...

Thanks Jered, I think I may go with the 19mm to start with. Then as I gain more understandind of the carb, tuning and such, I will be better informed and will be able to use what I get to it's full potential.

The Arreche shines off-the-line. The OKO is a better carb, but you need the OKO manifold to install it. I haven't been able to get the OKO perfect yet. Just got some needles I'll try this week. The Arreche is a no-brainer to tune. Anybody who can get a TM24 running right, please tell me how you did it.

One more wierd question. Can I get the 70cc kit without the carb. And use the stock pipe so I will not damage the piston. Then reinstall the pipe later with the carb. If this is a dunb question, just call me stupid before you answer it.

You can buy the 70CC kit w/o the carb. When you install 70CC kit I believe the stock carb is not sufficient for the amount of air/fuel needed and you will end up ruining the 70CC kit. A larger carb is almost mandatory with the 70CC kit and the 19MM is the minimum I believe.
Sorry I do not know how the scooter runs with a stock pipe and a 70CC kit.

you can use the stock carb with the 70cc airsal cylinder... Heck they even say if you use the stock carb, you can use the oil injection...
However I personally wouldn't try it... but it can be done...
There have been people on here and the yahoo forums that have done it and without problems as far as I can tell...

you CAN get away with a 70cc and stock carb IF you dont put an expansion chamber pipe on (also don't get radical with porting/compression) .......... heck the Euro BW100 still uses the 14mm

my friend had a airsal with the next r with the factory carb with re-jet ,and injection lasted, about 200 miles lol.

So I may be safe just bolting on the 70cc and using the stock pipe. The stock pipe is just a restrictor and a big silencer right? I can wait till I get the carb to install. Or buy the carb first. I'm just tired of being slow to 15 or 20 then running like a bat out of "heck" If I could have a semi steady pick-up through the RPM ranges, I would be happy.

the carb isn't gonna fix that...
you need to tune your tranny...
The tranny weights and spring being tuned poorly will cause a bog then rocketing after you get your RPM's up... just my thoughts anyway...

Update... Erich will sale me a 24mm Arreche carb, at a good price. Pinky said I'd need a Polini manifold. Where do I get one? Did you get it from Erich?
Oh yeah, the slow take off I was talking about earlier, was due to a too rich air/fuel mix. Oily residue on my pipe exaust should've been a dead give-away. Dialed it in a half... lots better. ::handleba Also going to vent my tranny case. Don't know if i'm going to put 40 holes in it right away though. :naught:
