My stock front turn signals look like the 2nd picture below. I would like to make them intergrated in the front head light like the 1st picture...
I took apart the front faring before I realized that the front turn signals are a sealed unit- which makes them unable to mount in the head light assembly. The 3rd picture shows the opening in the rear of the head light assembly- kind of looks like a twist and turn that is used in most cars...(the pic is taken with my cam-phone... my digi cam cable is at work..sorry!)
I sent Erich an email to see if he has the powers to order the Euro lights... ((Erich responded- he can not get any Euro parts for the Derbi...)
Any other ideas?

crxlurp has his turn signals in the headlight assembly. You can put your head light assemlby in some hot water or in the over and heat the glue up. I will get with matt tonight and write a How-to.

Confused...
My head light assembly is good to go- ready to accept the new lights.
It is the turn signals that are the prolem- they are in their own housing. I need some things like turn signals on a car- the bulb and a "bulb holder" that dangles at the end of the wiring.
I will get some pics tomorrow of it but looking forward to the write up regardless... Maybe (hopefully!) Matt figured out some thing I haven't.

hit a parts store... they'll have something that mounts in there... or simply remove them from the other housings...
I took mine out and cut them to fit into my tail lights... only downfall... you can't go back to stock

Me and matt went to autozone and grabbed 2 amber led bulbs and this little housing for the led bulbs. it was the perfect size.

Yea, go to any auto parts store, and you can pick up some 194 size wiring plugs. then simply extend the wires down to your housing. should be a pink wire, a purple wire, and a green and yellow wire. you will find these wires if you take your upper panel off, behind your gauge cluster. then simply unbolt the upper signals, unplug the wires on the them and wire them up to your new wiring for your new bulbs. and your good to go. also, the bulb wiring i bought didnt quite fit, so i cut a hole in those little rubber covers on headlight housing and ran the wire through them, then i just put a little squirt of hot glue on the rubber peice to hold it in place. works like a champ

THANKS!
Will try to fit this in my schedule tonight and report back..
My bulb has 2 wires going to it- purple is one of them and I think the other is orange.. I will confirm when I let you know how it went..

2 wires... one is a positive and the other is a negative... the positives should be different colors on the left and right side, where the negative will be the same color...
my positive on the zuma are yellow...

194 size wiring plugs.
I saw bulbs that had "194" on them with a thin blade like connector but could not find the connectors... They had some cool LED bulbs as well but I could not find the connectors to go with them either... GRRR
I ended up buying a few connectors that have use 1157 bulbs- going to go home to see if any of them work- if so- great, if not- will go back with an idea of how much larger or smaller I need to go...

1157 bulbs too big- unable to get them through the hole in the rear of the signal mounting plate...
Try again tonight after buying new setup...

Got some "194" size amber LED bulbs and 2 types of bulb connectors- a 5/8" and 1/2". See which one works the best....

So should I drill some holes in my air box above the tranny case? I already used a 5/8 black hose to open up the airflow. I still need to rejet the carb, but I hate messing with them so I have been putting that off.

I soldered a 1 foot section of 22 ga. wire to the connectors of an 194 connector with a 5/8" plug. I then put it in the head light assembly and had to electrical tape them into place as the 5/8" connector as a hair too small for the socket it was going in. I put the rubber seal over them that covered the "Euro turn signal hole" on the stock bike. The other end of that wire I stripped 5 inches and wrapped it around the stock turn signal wire and electrical taped the poop out of it. I don't ride unless it is perfect out anyway not worried about it getting wet, just don't want it to short out on any thing..
Looks good!
I am using a LED bulb and it made my blinkers speed up- almost like when one bulb is out and the relay is doing double time? Could this be that the LED does not have enough load on the electrical system? LED's do use less electricity so that would make sense? They are really dim as well- wondering if I will get in trouble for that- can't really see them with the sun out which is when I do 99% of my riding..
I have not cut off the stock turn signal mounting brackets as of yet... Going to give it a bit before I do that in case I have to go back to stock... I am treading lightly right now- I ride with using a novelty helmet and don't have my license...
I am hoping to take the MVA/DMV course this Summer- they let you use Rebel 250's. My scoot doesn't have rear folding foot pegs or a manual tranny so it looks like I can't do the driving test on it...
I am going to get a Daytona Skull Cap helmet as well- the smallest DOT helmet made.

ya its normal for your blinkers to speed up with the leds. It happened to me and matt.
If you want I can host 2 videos of my scooter and matts scooter with the LED lights. It isnt that good of quality but you get the point.

Thanks for the offer for the videos but that is ok...
I think I might wait a bit to see what I want to do- it seems that my bulbs are really, really dim so I might try to find a bigger 194 type bulbs..
I got the 4 LED model that looks like this (from manufacturer site)

(not sure why that shows up as link and not a pic but they don't complete with Provo)

MM, when I did my taillight mod I used those LED "studs" that are made for use as Liscense plate fasteners..... ya know what I mean? I'll try to find a pic......... They are single bulb, and are plenty bright. They also blink fast as you descrbe........

mm i used those same signals, but mine are really bright. im not shure shy yours arent. one thing that because i use leds in the back to is i installed some regular 194 size bulbs inside my front fairing just to give the load on the relay so that they wouldnt blink to fast. this worked very well, and you cant even see them. the thing with led's is that they dont use a filament, so it tricks the relay into thinking the bulb is burned out. that is why you have to make some type of load. hope this helps.

Thanks! I am not sure what I am going to do- works fine for right now, just not very bright. I can see them, however not very easy for other drivers to see them and that is the point in having them. I might try some "long" 194 blubs- sounds like that might solve all my problems.
It is illigal to have them in the front head light- that is why on the USA models they modify them with turn signal brackets and mount them there. I want to keep them in the head light and if I look legit- bright, visable and steady rate of blinks- than I am less likely to have any problems with the local Sheriff...

It looks like the stock bulbs have 1.3 OHM of resistance? That seems low but read it several times and that is what I am showing..
I am going to wire resistors into my front lights to slow them down so I can continue to use the LED's up front. I dremmeled off my front brackets this AM- will post more pics when it is put back together...

I'm thinking of keeping those old stalks on..(and the parts under the seat)...so I can talk my way out of a ticket...john

My ideas didn't work.. Too many Amps going thru the resistors... Going to wire in some bulbs tucked under the faring like crxlup did to get the load right...

When I was at the bank today,I talked to a DOT officer. Told him "OUR" whole turn signal mod story. He said if you can show an officer you have an Electric front and rear turn signals..and they work...you are legal. He couldn't understand why Derbi or anyone else for that matter would waste the manufacturing time and Money on those stalks..especially if the integrated ones are visible and stock OEM. ::handleba John

I ended up going with the LED's flashing fast- too much effort and not enough riding is what I figured.. I tried a few different things then said screw it.
I signal but people don't pay much attention to scooterest anyway so we have to ride as if they are going to pull out in front of us anyway..
Love the look of my scoot and some times I turn on the signal when riding WOT just to see my dash turn signal indicator flash like a strobe light. Goes very fast when giving it some juice!
