I see in your profile that you have a 16mm dellorto carb and a 70cc kit...

hows that working out for you?

I'd think that a 16mm carb is to small for the 70cc kits in most cases...

what are your thoughts?

as I wouldn't think of anything smaller than a 17.5mm but personally a min for me would be 19mm...

I have that on my old moped. With the mopeds most people don't even change the carb at all, just jet it up. The stock carb on it is like 12 or 14mm. I bought a different kit than anyone else has so I had to get mine imported from the UK. It came with the bigger carb, thats why I bought it over the other ones.

On my scooter I do have a new engine and I'm running a 19mm but I'm thinking of moving up to a 24mm with this new engine.

ah... Like a 24mm mikuni...

That's one part I have a spare of...

anyway, so you are saying moped... you mean a petal type bike-scooter type thingy?

As there is some serious moped/scooter confusion in the names... IMO a scooter is a "motorcycle step through" and a moped also has pedals...

just wondering what you are calling a moped...

My moped is a step through motorized bicycle.(the definition here in VA) I'll get some pics of it and post them up later so you can see it for sure.

Since Provo doesn't deal with mopeds, if anyone is interested I am trying to sell it. I know it isn't as fast as most of our modded scoots but it can really haul. PM me for more info.

The deffinition of "Moped" seems to vary not only internationally, but nationaly depending on the local. In Hawaii they refer to all sit sown scooters as Mopeds. To me a Moped is a cross between a small motorcycle and a bicycle. With a small Motor (less than 49cc) and Peddals to get it started rolling. Strangly the word Moped is not in the dictionary.

I looked moped up in a dictionary and I found this definition:"a lightweight low-powered motorbike that can be pedaled."

Then I looked up exactly what the DMV here in Va say what a moped is:"a bicycle-like device with pedals and a helper motor that is rated at no more than two brake horsepower and that produces speeds up to a maximum of 30 miles per hour
or
a motorcycle with an engine displacement of 50 cubic centimeters or less and a maximum speed of less than 30 miles per hour."

Hopefully this may clear up any confusion about the matter.
