I have a 2008 Vento Triton LI scooter. It has roughtly 900 miles on the scooter. The scooter is all stock. It seems that I am having problems with the scooter running. Lately I would be out driving around and suddenly the scooter begins to bog and then it shuts down. Once the scooter has shut down it then doesn't start right away. I have to kick start it continually for it to finally start.
My first thoughts were that the carburetor had some bad gas and needed to be cleaned. I took the entire carb off and cleaned it. Put the carb back on and the scooter fired right up. I then took the scooter out and it bogged and cut out again. Now I am thinking its the air/fuel mixture screw. Currently the a/f screw is turned out 1 1/4 turns. My thought was the scooter is running too rich and actually floods itself out.
Can you Pro's here give me some insight as to what I should try to correct the problem???
Thanks in advance.

You could be right about it being too rich, if your ambient temperatures are super high. Have you tried leaning out the a/f pilot screw 1/2 a turn yet?
Till the "Pros" chime in: Did you discard that tank of suspect gas after your carb cleaning?
I mention this because just today I was at my local ACE hardware/small engine repair counter and saw a bottle filled with fluids that had separated. The guy there confirmed that it was a sample of old 2-stroke fuel that had gone south.
I sometimes wish our fuel tanks were clear so we could see what's is going on in them.
I'd blow out the fuel lines to be sure they are clear, install a see-through fuel filter so you know that fuel is getting to the carb reliably, and add some Seafoam to a fresh tank - then go from there?

What range is the bike bogging out at? Meaning is it bogging at say 1/4 throttle or WOT (wide open throttle) or 1/2 or 3/4 let us know when it normally cuts out.

Thank you for the responses.
I did drain and empty the tank and refilled with new Premium fuel. While I had the carb off and the tank off I replaced the fuel hoses with see through Tygon hoses to ensure there was nothing gummed in the hoses.
When I am climbing a pretty steep grade I will have the throttle between 3/4 and WOT. Its only when the grade then levels out and I back off the throttle does the bike bog and cut out.
When I go to try and restart the bike it doesn't want to fire. I continually have to kick start the bike in order for it to start. I would almost appear that the cylinder is loaded with fuel. That is why I was wondering if I was running too rich.

Sounds like it's flooding out when you let off the throttle. Have you done a plug chop?

No I have not done a plug chop. Do you recommend doing a plug chop at different RPM ranges?

Do one at WOT first. Then do a different one at 1/2 throttle. That's where I would start.
