My son is interested in getting a 2006 Vento Phantera G.T.S. 150 cc Scooter. The guy wants $1400 and says its in perfect condition.

I know NOTHING about scooters, so I thought I might ask you expert types.

Is Vento a reliable brand? The nearest dealer is 100 miles away; can any scooter dealer work on them?

Lastly, is that price a decent one?

I appreciate any and all advice you can give me!

Here is a link to reviews of the Vento 150. Read them and you can decide for yourself.

Get a real scooter like a Yamaha Zuma or Vino for that price! Honda ruckus are good but they are dog slow stock and same for the Honda metropolitan. Get a Yamaha Zuma and modify and have your son and yourself learn to work on scooters by doing this and maybe get some bonding too :D

I would suggest another brand as well. I own a 49cc Vento scooter. Although my local dealer has good service, support from Vento is non-existent in the way of customer support and parts sales.
