Me and a another forum member recently exchanged rims he wanted black ones and I wanted silver ones. His was an 04 and mine was an 05. He put the rim on his and it wirked fine I put the silver one on mine and my front brake will not work. The rotor is scrubbing on a part of the caliper, when I squeeze the brake lever it goes to the bars and really doesnt do any good. If I loosen the bolts on the caliper mount it will work fine. I have tried shimming it with wqashers every which way and still cant get it to work. Has anyone else put an 04 zuma rim on an 05 zuma. Any ideas how to fix this problem? I feel like an idiot the brake system is so simple but yet it is kicking my ***.

I can't imagine the brakes are different on them... however you never know...
the other member (I know who), you have any problems with the black ones on yours?
It sounds more like something is in the wrong place on your scooter as I recall seeing the black ones on his red scooter in his garage pics... and never heard anything about them not fitting...
Anyway you can post a pic?

Out of curiosity I just checked the online parts catalog. Part #s are the same. Gotta be something else.

Jeremy and I have been trying to figure this out for a couple of days now. (through pm's) I have ZERO problems with the black ones.......... Well, let me re-phrase that.... NOW, I have ZERO problems..... At first I had one of the pads slip out of the clip, and it caused the same problem that Jeremy is describing. Jeremy, I hate to sound like a broken record, but, are you SURE that the pads are not slipping out of the clips?

I'm thinking it has to be something about the brakes not sitting in the caliper correctly as well... IMO they were a pain in the butt to get the pads to stay in so you can put the wheel back on in the first place...
I just can't see there being any difference in them as like pinky says... they are the same part number...

I finally got it :yippy: and yes it was the pads falling out of place. My clips were really weak so during installation they would let mypad next to the piston fall behind the place it was supposed to be so I bought some new ones today and put them on and it works like a dream now. Boy do I feel like an idiot. Oh well I can assure you that will never happen again. Thanks for all your help
