Going to try a bunch of different oils in my P200 (with a LML Stella engine in it) and post my results, what I like about it, what I dislike, etc. I like oil threads where its just saying what the bike was like while running that oil, not arguing over brands and stuff.
Going to go with a 5 star rating system on price, smoke, performance, and a overall.
Please note that these results/opinions are based on a LML 150cc 4sp, 2-stroke engine pre mixed at 50:1
1st. Valvoline Multi Purpose 2-stroke oil - $4.95 at any auto parts store (I get mine at O'reilly. Comes in a 1 qt jug. Blue bottle.
Its a decent dino oil, I use it in my weedwackers, chain saws, and all my other lawn equipment. In the scooter it ran ok, a small amount of smoke, didn't feel bad, didn't feel great. Not a half bad substitute if your regular oil is out of stock or you need some quick.
Price - 5 stars, super cheap and easy to find.
Smoke - 2 ( more smoke, higher the star rating). I like a decent amount of smoke just to piss people off lol).
Overall -3 stars. Not a half bad oil, just not my overall favorite. Great oil for your lawn equipment though.
2nd Motul 710 $7.99-$19.99- online, scooter shops, any place that sells dirt bike stuff.
Its a great full synthetic oil. I bought a 13.oz bottle at my friends scooter shop after I bought my P. This stuff makes no smoke at all (some people will like that). Strait from the bottle it smells like Listerine to me lol. I noticed a large improvement from switching to this after running the Valvoline. Comes in 2 bottle sizes, the 13oz and the 1 liter jug. I think the 1 liter jug may be to big to fit in a P series glovebox but Im not sure. Its cheaper to buy it by the 1 liter though. Its a great oil for a stock or modded bike.
Price - 3 stars. If you ride as much as I do, paying 8 bucks for 4 fill ups starts adding up real quick.
Smoke - 1 star. No smoke at all (unless you pull your choke out lol).
Overall 4 stars. Only thing that holds it back from being a 5 star oil is the
price.
Will be trying out a bottle of Redline this weekend and 2 more oils this week.
