Ok well I have a Scooter that I pulled from my G/F's house. It was her brothers back in like 91. And its been on the side of the house for a while, well I pulled it and cleaned it up a little and now they cant find the key to it. Well I was thinking about buying it from them for about $50 and then get the thing running for me back and forth to work.

I was just wondering where would be the best place to either drop the scooter off and have it fixed or a place where I could order the necessary parts to get the thing running myself?

It is a Riva by Yamaha "The Zoot Scoot" Jog, its black and Im guessing its about 90/91(model year) I havent really checked into it any more.

Any help you guys could give me would be great.

what state are you in??

You should have little or no problem finding an ignition that will fit....

your local yamaha dealer can fix it ,and get the parts you need.

and/or you can make it "hot wired" if you live in a safe type area...

depending on your situation... in addition look on ebay for an ignition... sometimes you can find kits that include locks for all the things on your scooter for $25 or so... and it will work for the seat pop, etc...

I figured I could get an ignition, it was the other items I was wondering about such as the chain and misc. items. Plus I know it needs a battery, and I wasnt going to try and start it with the old nasty oil it has. I cant open the seat up to get a chance to look at the motor so Im kinda stuck.

So I guess I can call my local Yamaha dealer tell him what model I have and he can order the ignition for me?

the other option is to call your local lock smith... they might be able to key it from code if they can look at the scooter...

and those only cost $10-15 for a key...
