I recently purchased an 07 vino 50 and the guy told me it had carburetor problems. When i drive it it starts fine and idles well and will accelerate up to about 10-15mph at wide open throttle but then starts to bust up and bog down and it will not go any faster than 25. Ive drained the fuel and cleaned the carb out really well and it still does the same thing. Any ideas on what could be wrong with it? Thanks for your help!

I am no expert on scooters, but it could be several problems. Carb float sticking, still could have some crud in the jet, also there is an accelerator pump which is part of the carb assembly, could be that. Did you check the air filter? There is also a gas filter on the carb. I have an 07 50cc Classic and they are a quality scooter. At one time I had the service manual link, but my computer crashed and I lost it.

Is the air filter stock or a performance filter?

Thanks for the reply guys. Its a stock filter and its clean, I checked it. And how would I check the accelerator pump on the carb? Thanks a lot

Actually I dont think it is a stock air filter. It looks to me to be the K&N type. Could this be the culprit?

With a free flowing filter and no other modifications, you could be starving for fuel.

Did you take note of the main jet size? Did the po or the po po put in a too big main jet per chance? Sounds like too much or not enough fuel. What color is the spark plug?

the spark plug was black. I cleaned both jets and installed a new spark plug and it is now running just fine. Thanks for all the help

What kind of top speed are you getting?
