Beating the dead horse of Vino 50 mods.
Here is my horse. 2001 vino 50 with the pipe de-restrict . I saw on the exhaust port there is extra metal. Should I grind that out too? Also I removed the washer behind the variator. All this being done I am getting 35 mph on a good day. Off the line I am happy till I reach 30 mph. I want to get to 45 mph but at the least cost.
#1 I keep hearing to up jet to a #80 main. What will I see when I do this in MPH and is there anything else besides the one jet I need to change? Any part numbers you like to share or a link to the parts?
#2 Does a stage one upgrade going to be my next step? If so which one should I buy? And what will I see in MPG gain?
#3 New reeds. Should I go with carbon fiber reeds? If so what MPH gain would I see there? Part # or link?
#4 Larger rear tire. Is it worth it? I read to go with Michelin S-1. Good?
#5 Do I have to go to my Yamaha deal to get the synthetic oil? I didn’t see any for 2 strokes or the gear oil at Wally World or our auto parts stores.
#6 The rear shock. I am a bigger boy and the stock one blows. I see some for over a 100 and thinking there has to be a better price out there. Any good prices for a better shock with part # or links?

I would contact YSS USA. Their US website blows but I got a brand new racing shock from them for like $45. Thing is very high quality. For a Vino 50cc you should look to get a 220mm. I'll send you the part number when I get home.

Its also worth getting a new set of tires, for handling it is big.

1.) An 80 main is too big. If you pull the snorkle, a 74-76 will be fine.
2.) stage blah blah blah.....get a 70cc BBK and be over all the crap.
3.) No need for CF reeds on a stock bore. If you get a BBK, then yes!!
4.) Yeah a new rear tire would be nice, but not really necessary to get a bigger one.
5.) Find a local motocrosser and see where they are getting theirs at. A good synthetic oil is very important.
6.) Someone else already answered that.

A 70 kit is the best bang for the buck there is out there.
