Just finished reading the Stage 1 threads and the comments on the Next R and RS pipes. Being new to scooters and constantly surfing for info, I ran accross a site that had what was called an Arrow "Extreme" Titanium series for my Zuma and was wondering if anyone knows anything about this. I is offered by Apprilla and is for the stock 50 cc. It claims 5-7 mph increase. They seem to offer a lot for scooters other than theirs but I just don't have the knowledge yet to move on it. Besides, so far Prov rocks above all the other sites I have found.

Guys running the Extreme like it. It is, I think, similar to the ZX. Better than stock, and looks sharp, but not a true expansion chamber pipe. If you're gonna stay with the stock engine it doesn't matter much what you bolt on there. If you're gonna install a T6 you cannot, repeat cannot, beat an RS70. And, it's cheap. Only if you seriously modify the T6 is it worth spending big bucks on a different pipe.

Good morning Pinky :)
I'm currently running the Next R on my stock engine. Only recently have I begun to consider going to a 70cc kit. I'm told the Next R is a true crossover pipe and works equally well with the 50cc and 70cc cylinders. Would it be worth it to upgrade to the RS70 if I do go for the 70cc upgrade?
Being a midrange tuned pipe I'm thinking the RS70 will give me a lower top speed than the Next R.

I have read that the Next R will have less HP than the RS70 with a 70cc. The Next is tuned to be a "performance pipe", however doesn't optimize the full potential of the 70cc kit- and that is why it can be used in both- or as you said, a true crossover pipe. The RS70 is tuned for 70cc- getting every little ounce of power out of the 70cc. As Pinky put it, if you are going to keep it stock it doesn't matter what you put on there. If you are looking towards the 70cc in the future, run with the RS70 for a bit- it won't be the best pipe for the 50cc but it will still be better than stock and you won't have to buy 2 pipes- one for 50cc and one for 70cc unless you want to run the Next on both applications.

The NextR is a decent pipe. Not as good as an RS70, but decent. Vino tuners don't use the RS70 because of the fit. It's too big.

It also scrapes the ground easily on hard right turns with stock tires ,and without a shock riser ,on a vino.

The RS70 hits the right turn signal on a Zuma. Your lens is perpetually cracked.

by looking at the two pipes, how can you tell the difference?

The NextR is smaller and shorter. The RS70 extends all the way to the mudflap.

Thanks Pinky, but let me clarify.......... when laying on the bench, and not installed ;)

I'm guessing what lennox is saying... if you have a pipe... what how can you tell which you have? If there a distiction? IE: one say R and the other RS anywhere?

good point, Lennox...
ya know... I do everything in real life. If I tell you I'm having issues with my Technomoto Variator then that is exactly what I mean!
I've learned that not everyone here is like me.
Thanks Pinky, but let me clarify.......... when laying on the bench, and not installed ;)

The RS70 has a solid mounting bracket. The NextR has, I think, a Y-shaped open bracket.

As I recall we did some head-scratching befor we got the Next R bracket installed.
It is kind of dumb.

Well, that is why I was asking the same question so many times, and in different ways........... I thought I had an RS this whole time...... Anyone need a NEXT-R?

That had to be holding back your top speed back some lennox atleast you know now.

Lennox, the pipe that you have is an RS pipe. An RS does have the solid bracket while the Next R has an open one. Also RS pipes have the carbon fiber silencer because the Next R pipe has a blue one. Shayandaman has a RS and I have a Next R and we have compared them and thats at least what I have seen.
Check this out from Provo

The NextR also comes with a black aluminum can. I have one as a spare for my old RS. The RS comes only with a Kevlar can.

That photo "here's the RS" is ancient history. They haven't made it with a separate flange/spring mount for a long time.

I was gonna say that the difference I saw was the spring mounted part...
however you'd think the pipe would say somewhere...

I know you guys just don't believe me but look at how many welds there are on the pipe. On a Next R there are 3 welds puting the expansion chamber together and then one connecting the header pipe to the expansion chamber. On the RS pipe there are 4 welds puting the expansion chamber together plus the one connecting the header pipe to it. Here are some pics showing Lennox's exhaust, then the Next R, and finally the RS pipe.
