hey guys, found this site after looking at ways to make my bike faster and thought ide register.

im lee, 22 from sunderland in merry old england, got a 1989 jog 2JA, which is currently in the shop getting repaired (due to me messing the carb up!)

got my bike from ebay for £125 and i love it.

is there anyway to make these faster? mine tops out at 33-34 max. its fine for 30mph roads but over here there are alot of 40-50roads too.

also parts. parts here are hard to come by, is it easy to import these parts to the uk?

i have big plans for my bike (more so that its just cost me £160 to fix), i want my bike painted and looking as original as it did in 89.

any ideas how to post pics and ill getsome up, cheers guys!

Yeah you are on the right side of the ocean to get parts for these. Really you need to begin reading, because its not that easy to just start bolting stuff on. A good place to start is reading through the old posts here and other places. Its pretty easy to wrap up $1000-$1500 U.S. dollars in these things.
To post pics, scroll down to where you see "manage attachments" and click that and follow the directions.

As far as parts for your jog go, they are pretty easy to come by. Its probably the most common engine type out there. Your jog uses the Minarelli Vertical engine. Thats the same as the Pre 2002 Zuma. Provoscooter has a good selection of parts for your jog (http://www.provoscooter.com/scooters/yamaha/yamaha-zuma-ii-50-vertical.html). Shipping to the UK is no problem either. I'm sure there are shops there that sell parts for you as well.

The most common upgrades people do are put on a 70cc cylinder, exhaust and variator upgrades.

What was wrong with your carb? usually when you start doing some of the upgrades i mentioned above people will upgrade the carb as well to something in the 19mm range. this is usually cheaper than fixing/replacing the stock carb as well as aftermarket parts are usually cheaper for better performance.
