Welcome to the forum Whyard!
Is this the brown colored basket with a spring hinged lid?
I bought one of those when I first got my Vino. After looking at the instructions decided to return it--you have to remove the Yamaha emblem (the only thing left on my scoot that identifies it as a Yamaha) and drill some holes into the front from what I could figure. I didn't like the look and having to drill there--thought it would decrease the value if I tried to sell it
Last summer I bought the front inner basket that Honda sells for the Metropolitan -fits almost perfectly.
I did have to drill some holes, but the silver screwss on the front leg shield look kind of cool (I think).Works like a glove box for sunglasses, water bottle, wallet. For more storage I added a Givi trunk--it is easily removable which is a great feature.

Whyard- I just noticed you live in Canada, I think you can purchase a front inner basket for the Vino there. I sure wish the US Yammy dealers had more accessories for the Vino!

The basket I have on my Vino mounts on the rear rack with zip ties. You can see a picture of it in my scooter garage on Provoforums.
The one that mounts on the front of the Vino and has a flip lid is no longer listed in the Yamaha dealers catalog, or at least wasn't last year when I ordered my basket and windshield. I do know the basket though, as there is a picture of one over on motocycle.com's site. It was either in their Vino road test or their derestriction article from 2001, forget which it was exactly.
I do like my rear basket a lot. Between the basket and underseat storage I can make a pretty serious grocery run on my scoot!

Thanks for the info. I managed to sort out the instructions using only the illustrations. I was wondering about the Japanese blinkers you say you are insalling. I wanted to know where you got them and if they are supposed to be mounted in those wacky hole with no use behind the stock blinkers?

I ordered my blinkers from ProvoScooter.com
Last time I checked Erich said he would no longer carry them. You can contact him ProvoScooter Contact Info (http://www.provoscooter.com/shop/contact_us.php) (he owns this forum) to see if he has any left. PM me if he cannot get them for you.
And yes, they do fit into those little oval spots on the scooter. This is the way the scooter was designed to look--the stalk style blinkers are made for the North American market to meet DOT regulations.
Check out some of the scooter garages on this forum since other members have photos of theirs installed.
I will post a photo once I finish the job on the rear ones.

It looks super cool. I just hope I can find enough stuff to jam into it to justify the $55cnd it cost.

Here's the link to the motorcycle.com review of the Vino. The Vino has the front basket installed.

Whyard-- you meant the front inner basket--I thought you were talking about the basket that goes over the front wheel.
You Canadians are lucky you can get the one made especially for the Vino. I had to buy the one made for the Metropolitan from Honda. It is a handy little item!
I think you'd have to starve Toto before you could fit fit him in there ;wink)

Yeah, sorry about the confusion. You're right, we Canadians are lucky in so many ways, not the least being the accessibility of scooter bits.
I'd like to thank everyone for being so helpful. I have to say, I labour alone with my scooter fetish so it's rather nice to share with like minded.

...MM..Your local Marine store has "the bar Buoy"..holder for boats..it can detach if you arent using it..And it swivels and stays level when you corner... so your "Cold Cell Phone" wont fall out... --o ...John
