Stage 1 and Malossi CDI installed

I installed the Malossi CDI, I am still at stage one. I just test drove it and I can say I am definitally over the 40-43mph plateau. I don't have an exact speed yet but the needle was waaay under the MPH on the speedo. Tomorrow I will break out the GPS and get an accurate speed.
For now, I did see an increase in the top end.

After a number of rides in various road conditions (Straight away, Up and down hills, Stop and go) here is what I got.

My top end was about 43 MPH before the CDI. I did see some difference. On the straight, I seen about 3 or 4 MPH increase depending on against or with the wind. Up hills, No change at all. Down hills, it did wind out way beyond before. And stop and go, It did seem to idle better and start off smoother.

Bottom line. I did seem to see some performance gain, but not enough to install the CDI without other performance up grades. I don't expect to get full use of it until a 70cc kit and carb.

IMO purchace this with the 70cc kit and carb, or a full stage 2. If you just wan't one for stage 1, get it. But don't expect a big performance boost.
