I know- has nothing to do with scooten but looking for some more info...

I am looking to put a 32 x 20 sunroom on the back of my house. Do any of you have, have had, have looked at, relative has or had and so on a sunroom?

Just looking for what to do and not do-

Get windows or sliding glass doors?

Get a window shaker for the HVAC or upgrade my downstairs unit to handle the load?

Carpert or tile?

Enclose the hot tub or put it on the deck?

Any other info- that was just to jog your brains..

My old house in Altoona had one. My pal Squid up the street just had one put on in the neighborhood of the dimensions you were looking at. He did the foundation work himself, but paid the pros to do the actually add on since he has no MD licenses to do the work. He has both glass doors and windows.

What do you have as your HVAC now? Sadly I know a little about HVAC systems.

I have 2 heat pumps- one for upstairs and one for downstairs right now. If I add the 620 SF for the sunroom with that being all windows/doors including the ceiling then I think that would overload my current 2.5 ton unit. That is a lot to cool with it being all exposed to sunlight.

I am taking bids right now for someone to do the whole thing- I don't work on much. All I do is mess it up even more and then it cost me twice as much to get it done right- hence the reason I need someone to work on my scoot for me. 1st wrench I take to it, it won't run again....

Hmm, 620 Sq Ft could be a bit much to add to a 2.5, (big ass room!)depending on the Sq Ft that that one unit is already working. but then again if you already have 2 in the house, you've got a decent size house already then. I'm partial towards Bryant myself. the new units have a decent Seer and are good at cutting costs back. I guess you're in a newer home. That seems to be the trend these days, two air handlers outside and a heat pump in the basement and one in the attic these days, I am guessing that we have 2400 Sq Ft of space total for both floors, and just went from an old GE 2t to a new Bryant 2.5t air handler and heat pump. (I hate ahving a split foryer!)

You should be ok with your setup as is and won't need an upgrade but if you do a window mount ouldn't hurt you too bad. But I think the pair of 2.5's should be fine for a a 620 Sq Ft sunroom..
