I once had a stock Vino 2 stroke and should never have sold it. Now I am looking for another Vino but I cannot decide between the 2 or 4 stroke. Are there major advantages of the 4 over the 2? The 2 is probably cheaper since they are older models but how about performance differences. Thanks for any opinions.

Thanks Harry. I know you know scooters so tell me. In your opinion what is a better, a Vino 2t or a Vespa ET2. Never had a Vespa but interestingly there are more of them for sale where I live than Vino's.

i would agree with Harry. 2t is way better and has way more tuning potential than a small four stroke.

Thanks for the replies. Since I have never owned a 4t (49cc) I have no basis of comparison. There seems to be more 4t models available than 2t and newer for similar money. I just looked at a 2003 2t, low miles but he is asking $975. Is there a major power difference between the 2 and 4? Also found an almost new 2008 C3 that may be available for around $1200. Interesting looking scoot, not beautiful, just interesting.

Get the scoot that fires your rocket, but remember 2 strokes fire once every rev for more power, are less costly to tune and are a fascinating study in simplicity as air pumps with their pulse-jet like resonant exhaust systems.

I've been driving 4 stroke engines for ages, so for me the 2t is a refreshing toy to play with.

4t should require less frequent maintenance though, so may be less costly over the long haul.

is that Venice, California? or Florida?
go with the vino i don't think there is a 70(72/75) cc kit ,,for the vespa
if memory serves me its a 65cc.
the 2t is easier to work on than the 4t's. it should be about a
3 hour job to kit the 2t.

to compare the two ..
if you have a 100cc 2t , you need a 170cc 4t to equal the power
to weight ratio ,,
the kitted 2t with a 70cc cylinder is almost equal to a 125cc 4t

I have two vino 2t's and one four stroke vino. Let me just say, my vino 2t legitly can do burnouts around the fourstroke.

2t = Smokes, Stinks, Fast, can go much faster

4t = Does not smoke, Does not stink, is not fast, cannot go much faster

The true kicker is how mechanically inclined are you? The 2t is going to need more maintenance than a 4t. Its all a bunch of give and takes.
