55 Spam messages in one hour!! From the same poster!!!

Can't you guys implement a Captcha in the registration process?

We have reCaptcha in the registration process, I just double checked that it is working. That is the main reason why when we get spam it is a lot from the same person because someone has to physically register first. we may want to consider doing it on a post by post basis. any thoughts?

I didn't think that spammers would actually go through the trouble of manually creating an account.

I guess the main problem is whether the inconvenience of typing in a captcha per post outweighs having a spam-free forum.

Personally I don't have a problem with doing that. It's only 4 or 5 more characters to type. Maybe start a poll to find the consensus of the members.

thats a good idea. I'll create a poll soon. I'm in the middle of moving the site over to new hosting because of the crappiness of the old hosting. It should be a lot faster and better. Then when I get some free time we can do some more maintenance some things in the forum.
