Zuma Belt Question

I got my belt in and put it on. Now I don't have any pick-up. It's very sluggish starting from a standing start. Then it takes forever to get up to speed. The belt I got is a: 738 16.5 28 E Can someone tell me if this is the right belt for an 04 Zuma? Thanks in advance.

what brand belt??? If it a Malossi, then you can cross reference it on "Malossi" website....... ;)

What brand is it? If it's a snug fit, and you have to spread the torque pulley to get it on, the length is OK. Did you compare widths? A wider belt will raise your effective gearing, and cut acceleration some. Not a lot, but some. You can compensate with lighter rollers.

Its a Bando VS. It is wider, and I used the medium rollers from the Techomoto vario.

ay booya i was wondering how fast does your Zuma go and how many cc's is it?

Lighter weights and/or heavier torque spring.

It's still 50 cc's. It will do 40 on a bad day, 45 on a good day.

Ok, I played around with the springs and rollers a bit, and blindly stumbled on the right combo. I went with heavier springs and lighter rollers. Now it runs like a bat out'a "heck"

Oh, yeah, it wasn't the belt. Sorry I douted you Erich :dunce: It won't happen again. I should have known he wouldn't send the wrong parts. The wider belt accually gives me a higher top end.
