Hey guys, new member here. Just bought a 2002 vino with a 70cc kit and pipe. And as far as i know thats all because the previous owner didn't really know either. I've owned and driven the bike for about 3 days, and 32 miles. Today i checked the plug because i felt like the bike ran better when it was cold, than warm. The plug indicates that the bike is running very lean, which my dealer also confirmed. I have not checked the jet in the carb now, but i went ahead and ordered a 75, and 85 jet today. Do those sound adequate? I have stock airbox, and carb, and i am at about sea level (Texas).

I plan on doing a plug read when it arrives, but want to make sure i can order a bigger jet if needed by tomorrow. Thanks!

open up the carb & see what the jet size is then order the appropriate jets.

Well that is my question, what is considered the appropriate jet? I tried searching but couldn't find any real answers.

for starters go anywhere from 2-5 jet sizes up from the ones you have in there now .
the "right" size really depends on the plug color. so buy a few jets
you might also want to move the clip on the needle.
i will pm you a link to some info that will help

I messaged you again harry, thanks for your help, however i discovered a clue that may be my issue. Yesterday when i went to the dealer i brought my old spark plug, they said it looked lean(whitish), so i bought another. However, the one i purchased, and assume the old one was, is a bpr7hs. Apparently i should be running the colder, bpr8 plug? Maybe this is why it looked to be lean, when it was really running too hot.

thoughts?

EDIT: I should also add that the scooter was ran for 600 miles in the condition its in now, thats why im weary that it was running lean. If it was, it would have blown by now.

look at your plug , electrode and ground strap
if you see any real tiny balls on either its your piston burning up.
meaning your too hot(lean).
