I recently purchased a speed varator from Provo. It arrived quickly, and I went about installing it with great expectations. only to find the unopened package had an extra part that I did not know what to do with. I went on the web site a found a lousy picture that looked like Athena wanted it between the ramp plate, and the inner pulley. I searched it on this forum and found a post stating it went between the two pulleys. I put it in back in the box and measured the back spacing and figured it is not needed at all. Why have this eating up the slide bushing. Any Comments are appreciated. I will include a picture. I am referring to the 1/8 washer pointed at by the arrow.

It does go between the pulley halves. It's to keep the pulley halves from closing completely (a speed restriction thing required by some stated/countries). It's up to you to install it or not.

That is what I thought. Till I went to the website and looked at the instructions.
